Recycling Upgrades for the MD

What Lundbreck, Beaver Mines, and Eco Center Users Need to Know

We recently shared the exciting news that our community is partnering with Circular Materials to upgrade our recycling program this October. But those changes aren't just happening in town—some fantastic upgrades are coming to the MD and our local Eco Center, too!

Whether you live out in Lundbreck or regularly drop off at the Eco Center, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming changes.

Curbside Pickup is Coming to Lundbreck & Beaver Mines

If you live in the Hamlets of Lundbreck or Beaver Mines, your recycling routine is about to get a whole lot easier.

Starting October 1st, you will be receiving curbside recycling services. That means fewer trips hauling your bins into town and a much more convenient way to do your part in keeping our community clean.

The Eco Center is Going "Single-Stream" (And Taking More Stuff!)

If you use the Eco Center, the days of carefully separating every piece of paper, plastic, and cardboard into different bins are coming to an end.

We are transitioning to a "single-stream" collection system. This just means all of your approved recyclables can go into one place without the extra sorting. Plus, just like the curbside program, the Eco Center will now be accepting materials we couldn't take before, including:

  • Glass containers

  • Foam packaging (styrofoam)

  • Flexible, soft plastics

  • Aerosol containers

New Staffed Hours at the Eco Center

To help keep the facility tidy, make sure the right things are ending up in the right bins, and answer any questions you might have about the new rules, the Eco Center is now staffed by our team.

To accommodate this, the gates are open during specific hours. Make sure to note these times before you load up the truck:

  • Open: Tuesday through Sunday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm

  • Closed: Mondays

Protecting Our Future, Together

These changes are all part of a larger shift to make recycling more accessible, keep unnecessary waste out of our landfill, and hold the companies that produce packaging accountable for the cleanup. It’s a big step forward in protecting our shared future.

Keep an eye out for more updates as we get closer to October, and thank you for your continuing support!
