SECURE LOAD POLICY
The Crowsnest/Pincher Creek Landfill Association has initiated a policy consistent with regulations under the Alberta Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, which states:
Section 179 (2)
“No person shall transport waste in or on a vehicle on a highway unless the waste is adequately contained secured or covered to prevent it from falling off or being blown off the vehicle while being transported.”
Improper transportation of waste is a chargeable offence under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act. Any unsecure loads arriving at the Cowley Landfill will be reported to the RCMP for enforcement.
